Contents:
On the 43rd anniversary of the publication of Populorum Progressio by Paul VI, Pope Benedict XVI confirms with this encyclical the validity of the teaching of his predecessor on social issues. Likewise, he updates its contents by tackling new problems, such as globalization, global warming, and respect for the environment, which are some of the burning issues of today. He does that from the Biblical-faith perspectives of truth and love. The WLP edition of the encyclical is characterized by the inclusion of a simple title for each paragraph and a selection of photos relevant to the theme of each chapter.
This edition comes in two versions: a “Complete Study Edition,” which includes about 90 pages of “Study Aids,” in addition to the text of the Encyclical, and “Junior Edition,” which consists of the text of the Encyclical, plus an essential Subject Index.
